From Phoenix TV reporter to Yoga Teacher & Personal Trainer
Courtney has dropped the mic after nearly a decade of being a TV reporter and anchor, and has picked up the yoga mat for good this time. She has been practicing yoga for the past 16 years and is thrilled to make teaching yoga her full-time career. She earned her 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification at Authentic Yoga in addition to her Corporate Yoga Teacher Certification.
Throughout her journalism career, Courtney experienced first-hand the difference yoga made in her life both physically and mentally. Breath work and meditation helped keep her calm and focused while going live and rushing around to meet deadline. Noticing how yoga helped Courtney in her corporate job is what inspired her to get trained to help and give back to those in a similar position.
She is trained to teach a variety of classes that focus primarily on the breath, body alignment, and releasing tension. Levels range from beginner to experienced yogi flow classes, slower-pace vinyasa flow, restorative, yin, prenatal yoga, kid yoga, yoga for athletes, and chair yoga. “I believe there is a style of yoga for everyone, and each style offers different qualities that the body and mind can benefit from.”
Alongside her 500-hour yoga certification, she also has become a NASM Certified Personal Trainer! She knows how well strength and flexibility go together and is excited to offer both perspectives to her clients. She keeps up with the latest techniques and training systems, and creates routines specialized for each individual client. She offers efficient workouts to help with range of motion, strength and balance in both a preventative and proactive approach to keep the body running well.
She is excited to share her knowledge and love for yoga and strength training in hopes of bringing out more peace, clarity, and purpose to her students’ lives.
